Commercial aquaculture can result in attractive profits but it can also result in poor/low profits and huge losses. Reasons for failure are diverse but include over- capitalization, improper practices and poor site selection.
Aquaculture is the farming of aquatic organisms such as fish, crustaceans, molluscs and sea weeds among others. Fish and fish products are valuable sources of protein and essential micronutrients. The white meat is highly digestible, low in cholesterol but rich in protein, vitamins (particularly A and D) and minerals such as calcium and phosphorus.
