The 4K Clubs in Kenya got a boost as the World Vegetable Centre donated vegetables seed kits to the counties of Murang’a, Kiambu, Machakos, Kisumu, Vihiga and Kakamega on 5th July, 2022. Predising over the ceremony, CAS Agriculture Anne Nyaga noted that a total of 48 schools from these counties will each get seed kits comprising of indigenous African vegetables.These vegetables are drought tolerant very nutritious and hivh yielding yet their production cost is very low.The program is set to launch 4K Club – Climate smart Agriculture Toolkits and related learning tools inclined towards Climate change mitigation through environmental conservation.CAS Nyaga was accompanied by the PS, State Department of Crops and Agricultural Research Development, the Country Director ,World Vegetable Centre Dr Ralph Roothaert, Senior representatives from Ministries of Education, Teachers and 4K club members.
